Gold Edges Lower Amid More Cautious Near-Term OutlookMarket Talk
Gold edges lower in early Asian trade amid a more cautious near-term outlook. "As the new week unfolds, investor confidence remains delicate," Fawad Razaqzada, market analyst at City Index and FOREX.com, in an email. "With the trade war rhetoric reigniting, many traders are reluctant to engage until the dust settles," the analyst says. The outlook for the precious metal has tilted more cautious in the near term, even if safe-haven demand is going to be elevated amid the market turmoil, the analyst adds. Spot gold is 0.1% lower at $2,978.64/oz. (ronnie.harui@wsj.com)
