King's Town Commercial Bank, Referred To As King's Town Bank, Is One Of The Commercial Banks In Taiwan, Formerly Known As Tainan District SME Bank. Together With Bank Of Kaohsiung, It Is The Only Bank In Taiwan With Its Second Head Office In Southern Taiwan.

Brief Description

At The Beginning Of Its Establishment, Tainan District Joint Savings Company Was Established In The Yunjianan Area And Operated As A Tender-based Joint Venture Business. On July 4, 1975, The "Banking Law" Of The Republic Of China Was Promulgated And Implemented, Stipulating That The Union Savings Company Must Be Changed To A Professional Bank According To Law; Therefore, On January 1, 1978, The Tainan District Joint Savings Company Was Restructured Into "Tainan District SME Bank" (referred To As Tainan SME Bank), And Officially Opened For Business On January 5 Of The Same Year. On July 20, 1983, The Shares Of Tainan SME Bank Were Listed.

Restructuring King's Town Bank

In Order To Meet The Standards For Restructuring Commercial Banks (the Minimum Paid-in Capital Is NT $10 Billion), Tainan SME Bank Increased Its Capital By NT $3.60 Billion In 2005, And Was Renamed "King's Town Commercial Bank" On May 3, 2006. The Name "Beijing City" Is Taken From "Where You Are Sincere, Gold And Stone Are Blossoming", And The Corporate Identification Logo Is "Phoenix Tree", The City Flower Of Tainan City Under The Original Provincial Jurisdiction, Symbolizing That The Bank Is Based In The Capital City And Blooms All Over Taiwan ", Stepping Out Of The Southern Region And Expanding The National Market.

Local Branches

In Order To Expand Their Business Scope, Taipei Branch Was Established In 1995, Which Was The First Branch To Operate Across Districts. After Cooperating With The Competent Authorities To Lift The Restrictions On The Cross-district Relocation Of SME Banks, Some Branches Were Relocated One After Another. At Present, There Are 65 Business Units In Tainan City And Taipei City, New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Hsinchu, Taichung City, Changhua City, Yunlin, Chiayi And Kaohsiung City.

January 1, 1978: Tainan District Joint Savings Company Was Restructured Into "Tainan District SME Bank".

May 2005: King's Town Construction Acquired A Nearly 40% Stake In Tainan District SME Bank And Joined The Board Of Directors Of Tainan District SME Bank.

May 3, 2006: Restructured Into "King's Town Commercial Bank", Referred To As "King's Town Bank".

2010: Song Xueren, Known As The "godfather Of Taiwan Investment Banking", Invested NT $five Hundred Million To Participate In The Capital Increase Of Subscribing To King's Town Bank Private Placement.

2014: The Former King's Town Construction Cai Family Gradually Faded Out Of The Management Team And Was Taken Over By The Dai Chengzhi Family.

August 3, 2014: In Response To The Gas Explosion In Kaohsiung, King's Town Commercial Bank Announced That The Interest Rate Of The Affected Households On Preferential Loans Was Reduced To 1% For A Period Of Three Years.

January 10, 2016: An ATM Was Removed Within 7 Minutes By Thieves At Rende Branch, Zhongshan Road, Rende District, Tainan City, Losing NT $4.118,000.

February 6, 2016: The Building Belonging To Xinhua Branch, Xinhua District, Tainan City Collapsed After The 2016 Meinong Earthquake In Kaohsiung.
