China's Central Bank Pledges Support for Sovereign Fund, Maintain Capital Market Stability

The People's Bank of China said it "firmly supports" sovereign fund Central Huijin Investment in increasing its holdings of stock market index funds, according to a Monday news release.
The central bank said it will provide sufficient re-lending support to Central Huijin Investment as needed and safeguard the stability of the capital market.
