BNI bank Enterprise Introduction

The Ivorian Authorities Want To Base The Development Of Côte D'Ivoire On A Strong And Credible Institution. Therefore, The National Investment Bank (BNI) Was Established In 1959 (by Decree No. 59-209 Of October 21, 1959) Under The Name Of Caisse Autonome D'Amortissement (CAA). Among Other Tasks, The Bank Ensures:

  • Research And Mobilization Of Internal And External Resources To Finance The Development Of The Country;
  • Repayment Of Public Debt;
  • Management Of Warehouses Of EPN (national Public Institutions).

In 1998, New Instructions Were Issued To The World Bank. Therefore, After Obtaining A Banking Institution License From The WAMU Banking Commission And BCEAO, It Became An Investment Bank With The Status Of A State-owned Company. It Performed The Triple Functions Of Investment Banking, Refinancing, And Consulting Until Asset Management Was Added To Its List Of Businesses In 2008. These Are Broken Down Into Six (06) Axes That Make Up The Agency:

  • 1 - Agency For Equalization Of Public Savings;
  • 2 - Organizations That Finance Investments In The Agricultural Sector;
  • 3 - Organizations That Refinance Banks And Financial Institutions Groups;
  • 4 - Actors In Public-Private Partnerships That Finance Profitable Public Investments And SMEs;
  • 5 - Participants In Capital Markets;
  • 6 - Agents That Perform Contracted Public Service Tasks.

To Enable The Institution To Adapt To These New Businesses, Since 2004 The Company Name Of The Former CAA Has Been Changed To National Investment Bank And The Share Capital Has Been Increased To 20.50 Billion CFA Francs. In Addition, BNI Has Established Two Subsidiaries:

  • BNI-FINANCES Was Established In January 2004 As A Management And Intermediary Company (SGI) Whose Role Is To Support BNI's Investment Banking And Advisory Banking Operations.
  • BNI-GESTION Was Established At The End Of 2008 As An Institution Specializing In Asset Management. Its Mission Is To Launch And Manage Funds By Collecting The Savings Of Investors, Including Individuals, And Then Investing Them On Their Behalf.

In 2017, The Agency Was Assigned Three Tasks:

  • 1 - Banking Accessibility And Financialization Of The Economy;
  • 2 - Financing Of Small And Medium-sized Enterprises;
  • 3. International Support In Political Affairs. However, Since 2022, In Line With Its Strategic Goals, BNI Has Decided To Redefine Its Mission On One Axis: To Provide Financial Solutions Tailored To The Needs Of Its Clients To Support Development, Companies And Populations
