KGI Bank Was Originally Established In 1990 By Prince Motors Founder Xu Shengfa "Cosmos Commercial Bank", With An Initial Capital Of NT $12 Billion. The Main Shareholders Include Prince Motors, Hsing Fu Cement, Shihlin Paper, SanMotors, Southeast Cement, Kenda Industrial, Housheng Glass.
Cosmos Commercial Bank Was Established On August 13, 1991 With The Approval Of The Ministry Of Finance, Obtained The Company License Of The Ministry Of Economic Affairs On January 14, 1992, And Started Business On February 12, 1992.
On April 13, 1998, Cosmos Commercial Bank Acquired Tainan Fourth Credit Cooperative For NT $1.588 Billion.
In July 1999, Cosmos Commercial Bank Introduced Cash Card Business From Japan, Pioneered The Taiwan Market Cash Card Business, Issued "George And Mary" Cash Cards, The Spokesperson Was An Yixuan, And Established A Cash Card Automatic Lending Machine.
On June 30, 2001, Cosmos Bank Acquired Miaoli Credit Cooperative For NT $800 Million. On October 31, 2002, Cosmos Bank Merged With Its Subsidiary "Cosmos Securities Finance Corporation". On July 28, 2003, Cosmos Bank Acquired Hsinchu Fifth Credit Cooperative For NT $518.8 Million.
On February 10, 2014, China Development Financial Holding Corporation Exchanged NT $13.4 Per Cosmos Bank Share In Cash For 0.2 Shares Of China Development Financial Holding Corporation Common Stock, Merging Cosmos Bank For A Combined Total Of Approximately NT $23.094 Billion. On September 15, China Development Financial Holding Corporation Completed The Merger Of Cosmos Bank Into A Subsidiary, And Cosmos Bank's Shares Were Listed After Conversion.
KGI Bank Period
On January 5, 2015, Cosmos Bank Was Renamed "KGI Commercial Bank", And The Enterprise Identification System Was Changed To China Development Financial Holding Corporation's Enterprise Identification System. On May 4, China Development Financial Holding Corporation Ceded The Corporate Finance And Financial Marekt Business Of China Development Industrial Bank To KGI Bank. On May 12, KGI Bank's Business Department Moved Into The China Development Financial Holding Corporation Building And Introduced A Newly Developed Smart Form Filling System.
In 2017, It Was The First Financial Institution Group In Taiwan To Obtain The Green Bond Qualification Accreditation Document Issued By The OTC, Becoming One Of The First Financial Institution Groups In Taiwan To Issue Green Bonds. In Addition, In The Same Year, It Promoted Customers To Have The Right To Data Portability, Launched "KGI Inside" Open Financial Service Components And New Entrepreneurs To Introduce, And Implemented The Concept Of Open Banking.
In 2018, It Joined Hands With Chunghwa Telecom To Develop "mobile Identity Authentication" Technology, Creating The First "mobile Phone Number Loan" Product In China, The First Example Of The Domestic Financial Supervision Sandbox Innovation Experimental Plan.
