Islamic Bank of Jordan, Islamic Bank of Jordan, Islamic Finance and Investment Bank of Jordan was established in 1978 (as a public limited company) to engage in financing, banking and investment operations in accordance with the provisions of the Islamic Shariah pursuant to the Law on Islamic Banking of Jordan No. (13) of 1978, which was repealed and replaced by the Special Chapter on Islamic Banking in the Banking Law No. (28) of 2000 AD, which came into force on August 2, 2000 AD. The first branch of the bank began work on September 22, 1979 AD, with paid-in capital not exceeding 2 million dinars of its capital. The authorized amount is 4 million dinars and the bank capital is (200) 200 million Jordanian dinars.
